Gratitude is a Matter of Attitude! | |||
|
- This week's Torah Portion, Bo, tells how the Jewish people left Egypt after 210 years of slavery. They were very grateful for all the miracles G-d did for them. And so are we! Because if we stayed in Egypt, we'd be reading Rabbi Riddle in hieroglyphics!
- Our forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, offered sacrifices to thank G-d for helping them.
At the time of the Holy Temple, we would bring a special "Thanks Offering."
Today, when people wish to show gratitude to G-d, they often make a thanksgiving meal. They also give charity. If they've been very sick, crossed over the dangerous ocean or desert, or been in jail, they also say a special blessing.
Rabbi Riddle's Kwazy Kwestions:
- What should you be grateful to G-d for?
- What shouldn't you be grateful for?
